Discovering who I am, and why this health & wellness website can be of immense use to you
Welcome!

You can find all kinds of resources online for any health, wellness, or medical topic imaginable. Individuals and companies of every size fill the internet with their versions of information and guides.
Why look here? What could I have to offer you that others don't?

What Will You Discover On This Site?
Many health and medical sites sort their visitors into predetermined general categories. Only then do they provide information and instructions telling people what they should or shouldn’t do. This approach can be beneficial. Yet, it’s far from ideal, in my opinion.
You’re not “the woman with arthritis” or “the man who’s overweight.” Your questions and challenges are never so easily defined.
Without addressing life’s natural variabilities, difficulties, and realities, those sites rarely offer more than a couple of options for you to consider. As a result, you often discover some information about a topic without truly understanding the many ways it may (or may not, in some cases) affect you.
Gathering information may help you know more things. That’s fantastic. But what exactly have you learned? As the saying goes:
“Give a man (or woman, or kid) a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
That’s what you will find here.

Who Am I?
My name’s Lisa Paoni. It’s a pleasure to meet you.

I’ve been working as a physical therapist for over thirty years. Putting that in perspective, DVDs and cell phone text messaging both became available in the mid-1990s, a few years after I graduated from college (1991). So, I've spent quite a while immersed in all things health, medical, and wellness related.

Pick any age, I've seen them all in some manner. While I haven't been employed in every possible setting, my experience is fairly comprehensive -- hospitals, acute/subacute rehab facilities, independent and assisted living communities, nursing homes, home care, and numerous outpatient clinics (including general medical, orthopedic, neurological, sports medicine, chronic pain, and work hardening/conditioning).

Two years ago, I became certified as a Nutrition Coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Throughout our lives, food and nutrition affect all of us physically, socially, emotionally, as well as behaviorally. With such an enormous amount of information to understand, I decided to expand professionally in this area.

For reference, the professional credentials after my name – PT CNC – indicate that I’m a Licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Nutrition Coach.

Why Should You Trust Me?
For over three decades, I've never done anything other than directly and physically help people with their health and medical issues. I understand how wonderful and complex the interrelationship is between our body, mind, and soul. I see everyone as a unique individual, not a statistic or a diagnosis. My website is merely an extension of what I've been doing for a living my entire adult life.
I personally research and write all the articles on this site. Information is derived from reputable health and medical sources -- not Wikipedia or this-article-said-that-about-another-article. All details here are evidence-based from science and reliable/valid research studies. Each article is reviewed anew by me every 10-12 months, ensuring that all details remain up-to-date.

Nothing here is invented, manipulated, or twisted to suit some biased opinion or marketing ploy. And, AI-generated work of any kind will never ever appear here.

I hope you stop by often. My garden here is newly planted, but constantly growing. Thanks for your patience while it grows and blossoms.
